Rethinking Community Engagement
December 13, 2017 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am
FreeThere are many types of systems that influence health equity, from education and housing, to transportation and public safety, to race and socioeconomic status. It is important that those most impacted by inequities in these systems are engaged in identifying priorities and solutions that create a culture of health in the Roanoke Valley.
Healthy Roanoke Valley invites you to attend a workshop that will address how organizations and multi-sector partnerships can rethink their mindsets and practices towards more effective resident engagement in order to collectively create better conditions of health and well-being. Led by Rethink Health (www.rethinkhealth.org/), we will develop a framework of transition from an “organizational driven approach” towards a “community activation approach” in the Roanoke Valley.
As part of this conversation, Roanoke Valley Unites will present their Social Contract, a community-driven contract addressing the importance of diversity and inclusion as key contributors to continued growth in the Roanoke Valley.
This event is the result of generous support from the DentaQuest Foundation.
