PRSA Blue Ridge Service Workshop – Application Deadline: August 24, 2017

Does your nonprofit need a public relations boost? As part of PRSA Blue Ridge’s commitment to serve the community, they are offering a new workshop designed to help you create a custom communication strategy sure to get you the media attention you deserve!
It will consists of two parts: 
 
1. Twenty Tips in Twenty Minutes: Nonprofits will hear from local PR experts about general best practices and tips for smaller organizations/one-man-bands. Sort of a PR 101 geared to nonprofit employees who wear a lot of hats.
2. Individual Strategy and Planning: PRSA members will work individually with nonprofits, hearing their issues, answering their questions and brainstorming solutions.
To best meet the needs of the second portion of the event, they will limit participating nonprofits to four. Up to three representatives from each nonprofit will be permitted to attend.
Nonprofits will apply via electronic survey, and participants will be selected based on need, issues presented and goals provided. Applications due no later than August 24th. PRSA will notify all applications in early September to let them know if they were selected.
To be considered, an organization needs to be based in Central or Southwest VA and have a designated 501(c)3 nonprofit status. Organizations must not have either a public relations professional on staff or access to support from public relations contractors.
